Follow these 4 steps in order. You will need accounts for: Claude.
Step 1: Connect transcripts
- Decide the transcript source: Descript/Otter/Whisper output to a folder, or manual upload.
- Create a Drive folder 'Episode Transcripts' and a matching n8n Google Drive trigger.
- For automatic capture, point your recording tool to export txt/md there.
- Name files consistently: episode-123.txt.
- Test an upload arrives in the workflow.
Watch out: Consistent filenames make the metadata step reliable — require episode numbers in the name.
Step 2: Add the notes prompt
- Build: 'From this transcript produce: 1) Episode title option. 2) Description ≤150 words. 3) Chapters with timestamps and 1-line titles. 4) 5-8 keywords. 5) 3 social posts from the strongest quotes.'
- Instruct: keep quotes exact from the transcript, no invented quotes.
- Output JSON with the chapters array.
- Paste with API key.
- Test on one episode.
Watch out: Tell it to pull exact quotes — fabricated 'best quotes' will embarrass you publicly sooner or later.
Step 3: Route the output
- Write the output to a per-episode doc (Google Doc or Notion page).
- Store the doc link in a 'Episode Assets' sheet row.
- Keep the transcript source and output doc together in your publishing flow.
- Paste the description into your podcast host (Spotify/Apple) metadata.
- Test the full route once.
Watch out: Keep the host metadata update manual — hosts often add their own formatting rules.
Step 4: Hook up social drafts
- From the same generation, add the 3 social posts to your content queue.
- Include the episode link and a quote teaser.
- Status = Draft until you approve.
- Schedule defaults on episode-release day.
- Review the first few episode outputs before enabling.
Watch out: Auto queueing identical posts at release is fine once approved — but the link must point at the live episode, so approve after publishing, not before.
