Set it up yourself
Follow these 4 steps in order. You will need accounts for: Claude.
Step 1: Write your voice guide
- Write a short voice doc: tone words (e.g. 'direct, warm, no jargon'), do's, don'ts, forbidden phrases, and 3 example passages.
- Include your audience descriptors so the checker scores fit-for-reader too.
- Keep it under ~1 page; voice guides over 300 words get ignored.
- Save the doc and note its ID/path.
- Review it quarterly — voice drifts as your brand grows.
Watch out: Examples are worth more than adjectives — the checker matches style, and models judge by examples.
Step 2: Add the scoring prompt
- Build: 'Score this draft against my brand voice guide. Return JSON: {voiceScore 0-100, toneIssues[], forbiddenPhrasesHit[], audienceFitIssue?, verdict(pass/rewrite)}.'
- Calibrate: pass ≥ 80.
- Paste the voice guide inline in the prompt (or reference your doc).
- Paste with API key into the workflow.
- Test on a good and a bad draft and eyeball the scores.
Watch out: Fix the calibration on real drafts first — a checker that rubber-stamps everything is worse than none.
Step 3: Connect your drafts
- Feed drafts from where they're written: Notion draft database, Docs folder, or a paste-in web form.
- For each new draft, run the checker automatically.
- Write the score + verdict back to the draft's row/page.
- For 'rewrite' verdicts, generate one suggested revision for review.
- Test end-to-end with a draft.
Watch out: Always keep human approve-in-loop — the checker decides when you look, not what ships.
Step 4: Set the pass threshold
- Start with a strict threshold (85) and relax after a month of noise.
- Post a weekly summary: average score, most-flagged forbidden phrases, team outliers.
- Use the flagged phrases to update the shared style guide (the guide improves the checker).
- Review the weekly summary in your team sync.
- Iterate the guide quarterly with the checker's output.
Watch out: The summary is feedback for writers — share it kindly; the goal is fewer rewrites, not more policing.
