Content Repurposing Pipeline

One blog post or video becomes 3–5 draft social posts, saved for review.

Saves about ~3 hrs per week

What it does

  • Watches your blog RSS or video transcript for new content
  • Drafts 3–5 platform-specific variants (LinkedIn, X, newsletter)
  • Saves drafts to a Notion or Docs board for review, not auto-post
  • Keeps your tone consistent across platforms

How it works

  1. New blog post or transcript detected
  2. AI drafts a variant per platform
  3. Drafts land in your review board
  4. You approve and schedule

What's included

  • Content trigger
  • Per-platform prompts
  • Review board

Set it up yourself

Follow these 4 steps in order. You will need accounts for: Notion, Claude.

Step 1: Set up the trigger

  1. Get your blog's RSS feed URL (WordPress: /feed; Substack: /feed; most platforms have one).
  2. In n8n add node 'RSS Feed Read' or a Schedule that hits the feed URL.
  3. For videos: point the flow at your transcript folder or use a YouTube trigger.
  4. Parse the newest item's title and content into variables.
  5. Test that a new post arrives in the workflow.

Watch out: Feed caching: most feeds update slowly; poll every 30-60 minutes, not every minute.

Step 2: Add the repurposing prompt

  1. Build a prompt with one output per platform: LinkedIn post, X thread (3-5 numbered tweets), newsletter blurb.
  2. Instruct: keep my brand voice (paste a one-line voice note), no hashtag stuffing, each platform formatted distinctly.
  3. Return JSON: {linkedin, xThread[], newsletter}.
  4. Paste the prompt + API key into the AI node.
  5. Test on your latest post and review the three outputs.

Watch out: Give the model the raw post content, not a summary of it — a summarized source produces generic drafts.

Step 3: Connect the review board

  1. Create a Notion database 'Social Drafts' with properties: Post, Platform, Status (Draft/Approved/Scheduled), Source URL.
  2. Add your content-sync integration to it (⋯ → Connections).
  3. In the flow, after generation, create one page per variant with the platform and source URL.
  4. Set Status = Draft for all new pages.
  5. Test that generated variants appear in Notion.

Watch out: One page per variant (not one combined page) — platform-wise approval is much easier to manage.

Step 4: Test with an old post

  1. Manually trigger the flow with an older post.
  2. Verify the three variants exist in Notion with source links.
  3. Approve one variant end-to-end (Status = Approved).
  4. If the variants feel off, tune the voice note and re-run.
  5. Turn the trigger to auto for new posts.

Watch out: Run a week in draft-only mode before approving anything — the pipeline should never auto-post without your review.
