Sales Pipeline Daily Briefing

A single 9am Slack message with every deal that moved, stalled, or needs a touch today.

Saves about ~2 hrs per week

What it does

  • Pulls your pipeline from the CRM or sheet on a schedule
  • Flags deals that need a touch today and deals that went quiet
  • Posts a scannable 9am briefing to Slack
  • Rolls up weekly movement so you spot trends

How it works

  1. Pipeline data pulled each morning
  2. AI writes a readable briefing: moved, stalled, needs-touch
  3. Briefing posts to Slack at 9am
  4. Weekly rollup summarizes the numbers

What's included

  • Pipeline connection
  • Briefing prompt
  • 9am Slack schedule

Set it up yourself

Follow these 4 steps in order. You will need accounts for: Slack, Sheets.

Step 1: Connect your pipeline source

  1. Choose the source of truth: your CRM export or a master pipeline sheet.
  2. Standardize columns: Deal, Stage, Value, Owner, Next Touch Date, Last Activity.
  3. If using a sheet, set up a scheduled export from your CRM into it (or keep the sheet authoritative).
  4. Test that the workflow reads the sheet/CRM reliably each run.

Watch out: Pick ONE source — the briefing is only as trustworthy as the whoever-writes-last fight between CRM and sheet.

Step 2: Define the flags

  1. Needs touch today: Next Touch Date = today, or Last Activity older than 3 days for open deals.
  2. Stalled: no activity in 14 days, still open.
  3. Moved: Stage changed in the last 24h.
  4. Add columns so the workflow can compute these without ambiguity.
  5. Test the flag logic on this week's real data.

Watch out: The stall window drives attention — 14 days is a good default; tighten to 7 if your sales cycle is short.

Step 3: Write the briefing prompt

  1. Build a prompt: 'Turn this pipeline data into a scannable briefing: 1) Moved today/up. 2) Needs a touch today (name, stage, why). 3) Stalled (name, days idle). Keep it under 200 words, no jargon.'
  2. Instruct it to keep deal names but never invent numbers.
  3. Add: 'If nothing needs attention, say so explicitly.'
  4. Paste prompt + API key into the workflow.
  5. Run on one day's data and eyeball the output.

Watch out: 'Say so when nothing needs attention' stops the habit of the briefing always demanding action — trust your pipeline.

Step 4: Schedule the send

  1. Set the workflow to run weekdays at 9:00.
  2. Connect the Slack node with your #sales channel webhook (api.slack.com → Incoming Webhooks).
  3. Optional: also email the briefing for days you skip Slack.
  4. Add an error notification so you catch a 6am data failure fast.
  5. Watch the first week: if the flags are noisy, tune the thresholds.

Watch out: 9am 'today' means the data must be current for the new day — schedule the pipeline export before the briefing run.
