Set it up yourself

Follow these 4 steps in order. You will need accounts for: Shopify, Claude.

Step 1: Export purchase data

  1. Export 3-6 months of orders with line items (Shopify admin → Orders → Export → CSV with line items).
  2. Load into a sheet: Order, Product A, Product B.
  3. Build or compute co-occurrence: count pairs bought together.
  4. Filter to pairs bought together 5+ times.
  5. Test the pair counting.

Watch out: Use line-item CSV (not the simple export) — you need product-level pairs for bundles.

Step 2: Compute margins

  1. Add cost per product (from your catalog or a sheet).
  2. Compute each pair's total cost and can-calculate margin at 3 price points.
  3. Choose a bundle price target (e.g. 10-15% below sum).
  4. Flag pairs whose bundle margin is thin.
  5. Test the margin math.

Watch out: A 'great pairing' with no margin is a loss leader by accident — compute before proposing.

Step 3: Generate the proposals

  1. Build: 'From this co-purchase data, propose 5 bundles. For each: products, suggested price, name, and a one-line positioning angle. Skip pairs with thin margins.'
  2. Add your brand voice.
  3. Paste with API key.
  4. Review the proposals and reject any that feel forced.
  5. Test on the computed pairs.

Watch out: Let the data pick pairs, let the AI name and position them — a forced bundle is noticed by customers.

Step 4: Build the winners

  1. Promote approved bundles in Shopify (create bundle products or use a bundle app).
  2. Launch with a campaign slot.
  3. Track bundle sales vs separate sales of the same items.
  4. Log margin deltas.
  5. Review monthly and retire underperformers.

Watch out: Track 'cannibalization' — if the bundle just shifts sales from the singles, the margin is the only gain.
