About the Discount Calculator

Compare a percentage-off offer with a fixed-amount coupon, or work backwards from a sale price to find the real discount. The calculator handles stacked discounts so you can see why 20% + 20% is not 40%.

How to use it

  1. 1Enter the original priceUse the listed price before any reductions.
  2. 2Add the discountChoose percent off or a fixed amount, and add a second discount if they stack.
  3. 3Compare the resultThe tool shows the final price, total saving and the effective percentage off.

Why use this discount calculator?

  • Nothing leaves your device. The work happens in your browser tab. There is no upload endpoint in this app, so your files and text cannot be stored, logged or seen by us.
  • No upload wait. You skip the round trip to a server entirely. Results are limited by your own CPU, not by network speed or queue size.
  • Free, no account, no quotas. No sign-up wall, no watermark, no daily limit. Optional accounts only exist to save favourites and presets across devices.

Frequently asked questions

Is my price safe to use here?

Yes. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you paste or open is sent to a server, and the page keeps no copy after you close it.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Every tool is fully usable without signing in. An account only adds saved favourites and reusable presets.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The interface is mobile-first with large touch targets and a stacked layout, so it works on phones and tablets as well as desktops.

Why is 20% off then another 20% off not 40%?

The second discount applies to the already-reduced price. On £100, the first 20% leaves £80 and the second takes £16, for a total saving of £36, or 36%.

How do I find the discount percentage from two prices?

Subtract the sale price from the original, divide by the original, then multiply by 100. A £75 item reduced to £60 is (75 − 60) ÷ 75 × 100 = 20% off.
