Set it up yourself
Follow these 4 steps in order. You will need accounts for: Shopify, Slack.
Step 1: Connect review sources
- For store reviews: add the reviews export or app webhook to the workflow.
- For Google reviews: use a Google Places API query on your business name (polling).
- Create a sheet 'Review Log' as the dedupe store: Review ID, Source, Date, Processed.
- Test each source returns new reviews.
- Note the rating and review text fields.
Watch out: Two sources need two connectors — don't try to merge them into one half-working pull.
Step 2: Create the Slack hook
- Create a Slack app with an Incoming Webhook to your #reviews channel.
- Copy the webhook URL.
- In the workflow, add the Slack node with the URL.
- Format the message: reviewer, rating (stars), text snippet, link.
- Test posting a sample.
Watch out: One channel per source keeps the flow readable — #reviews-store and #reviews-google if you want clean separation.
Step 3: Add the sentiment line
- Add a quick AI step: 'Classify this review's sentiment (positive/negative/mixed) in one word, plus one sentence why.'
- Keep the token budget tiny — this is a preview line.
- Append the classification to the Slack message.
- Test on a negative and a positive review.
- If the line feels noisy, drop it and rely on stars.
Watch out: The sentiment line is a triage aid, not analysis — keep it one sentence and move on.
Step 4: Set the negative flag
- Route rating ≤ 3 (or negative sentiment) to a separate #reviews-action Slack channel.
- Add a 'reply within 24h' ticker to the flagged message.
- Optionally draft a suggested response in the flagged message.
- Log flagged reviews in the sheet for follow-up.
- Test the routing with a fake low rating.
Watch out: The separate action channel creates a visible queue — flagged reviews that sit there are a team accountability signal.
