Price Objection Responder

Drafts a reply to 'it's too expensive' that reframes value — while you sleep.

Saves about ~1 hr per week

What it does

  • Detects price objections in incoming email
  • Drafts a reply that reframes cost vs value with your proof
  • Injects a relevant case study or number from your notes
  • Leaves it as a draft — you review before sending

How it works

  1. Email with price objection detected
  2. AI drafts a value-reframing reply
  3. Relevant proof inserted from your notes doc
  4. Draft saved for your approval

What's included

  • Proof points doc
  • Objection detection
  • Reframe prompt

Set it up yourself

Follow these 4 steps in order. You will need accounts for: Gmail, Claude.

Step 1: Write your value proof

  1. Create a Google Doc 'Proof Points' with 5-10 concrete results: hours saved, revenue recovered, time-to-value.
  2. For each add the one-line 'when to use' note (client size, industry, objection type).
  3. Add pricing philosophy for the AI: never discount in the first reply; anchor value first.
  4. Save and note the doc ID.

Watch out: The proof doc is the difference between a reframe and a cliché — spend real effort on the 'when to use' notes.

Step 2: Set the detection trigger

  1. In Gmail create a filter for objection phrases: 'too expensive', 'out of budget', 'can't afford', 'lower price'.
  2. Label matched mail 'Objection' and keep it unarchived (you want to read it).
  3. Create the Apps Script project and paste the guide's script.
  4. Add PO doc id as a Script Property so the AI reads your proof points.
  5. Save and authorize.

Watch out: The filter must keep mail visible — an auto-archive here hides the very leads you need to see.

Step 3: Add the reframe prompt

  1. Build: 'Draft a reply to this price objection for {role}. Use my proof points — pick the 1-2 most relevant. Structure: acknowledge value of budget, reframe as investment with concrete numbers, propose next step. 120 words max, no discounting.'
  2. 'No discounting' belongs in the prompt as a hard rule.
  3. Ask for a suggested next step (demo, mini-audit, smaller scope).
  4. Paste with API key; save as SYSTEM_PROMPT.
  5. Test on an old objection email and review the draft.

Watch out: The PM gives the draft teeth; without a concrete 'next thing' the reply ends the conversation instead of continuing it.

Step 4: Route drafts for approval

  1. The script creates a reply draft on the thread and adds a 'Price Objection' label.
  2. Set a time-based trigger every 10-15 minutes.
  3. Review drafts daily; send when the canned structure fits.
  4. Log which drafts sent — tune the prompt after 10 sends.
  5. Watch that the AI never fabricates a number — it must only use proof from the doc.

Watch out: Keep the 'only from the doc' constraint — a hallucinated ROI figure in an email is both embarrassing and damaging.
